The
Raleigh County Commission on Aging, Inc. not only provides transportation within Raleigh County but we also plan out of county
excursions to areas of interest to our senior citizens. These trips take our seniors to visit theaters, shopping malls,
natural scenic tours, and many other points of interest within a three hour radius (150 miles) of Beckley. Though it
doesn't seem that far, we have managed to find ourselves on trips to Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Ohio!
Our trips are
organized on a first come, first seated basis. We usually take 20 people and will gladly take more if there is enough
interest. Anyone interested in participating in a trip must sign up at our Multi-Purpose Center on South Kanahwa Street
in Beckley and pay the trip fee at the time of signup. Trips that remain within borders of West Virginia are charged
a $20 fee, while trips with destinations outside the state cost $25. Admission for events or trip destinations is the
responsibility of the seniors participating in the trip, but we always try to get a group discount and may ask everyone
to contribute in pre-paying for such discounts if possible.
If you are interested in joining us on a trip please contact us
at our Multi-Purpose Center or contact Daniel Simmons.
